Richards Opt For Binz

Aberdare funeral directors, Richards Funeral Services recently took the decision to trade in its hard working Volvo Nilsson fleet after six years' of reliable service. At the time they were built these Volvo’s were unique in being developed in conjunction with Volvo by Yngve Nilsson a coachbuilder who had been granted full access to the base vehicle manufacturer's safety and engineering design test data. So when James Richards, MD at Richards Funeral Services looked around for a modern equivalent there was only one choice - it had to be a Mercedes-Benz, and it had to be Binz.

Richards said, "We had dealt with Peter Smith when he handled Nilsson, and we had been very happy with the quality of the cars and the service that was offered at the time, so we had no concerns about going back to what is now Binz for our new fleet.

"The hearse and the two limousines are impeccable. They offer quality and reliability and they have what is still a distinctive dignified appearance without being old fashioned". Beneath the skin too, Richards Funeral Service can rest assured that all the recent safety innovations that Mercedes Benz has introduced over the last decade including Pre-safe, multiple occupant airbags - and for worst-case scenarios even an imminent collision detect system - have all been appropriately recalibrated to function correctly in these extended chassis vehicles.

Kevin Smith, Sales Director for Binz (UK)Ltd. added, "This was a first time purchase of a Binz fleet for Richards Funeral Services, but we are delighted that the customer satisfaction from our Nilsson period still brings clients back. It validates our decision in the mid 1990s to begin developing the Mercedes-Benz approved Binz-built hearse and limousine range for the British Isles. We started with a high quality product and we aim to continue that policy through Binz as a key value of our product line, and one which encapsulates the attributes demanded by an increasingly savvy customer portfolio”
