Binz UK
(incorporating Nilsson) ne: Peter Smith and family - a
family owned and operated business, who have always
recognised that in order to produce high quality, safe, and
long lasting vehicles, it is absolutely necessary to work
directly hand-in-glove with the original vehicle
manufacturer (OEM) where-in the quality, safety, and
compliance integrity, into which the OEM has made a
considerable investment, is not compromised.
Over this period, the company has
acquired a unique awareness of the needs of its customers,
in both the United Kingdom and in Eire. An attention to
detail that finds expression in specifying both tyre
pressure monitoring and parking sensors as standard on the
current Binz E-Class line. Or the way that key
air-conditioning controls are grouped under the control of
the driver and of course the unique optically-clear curved
side windows in our hearses which display floral tributes to
the best advantage - a view for by-standers that's
ripple-free and with no unwanted reflections.
A key feature of our product
development has been the way that feedback from the real
world of the limousine operator and the funeral professional
becomes incorporated into each new generation of Binz
vehicle. It is an evolutionary process that has gone
hand in hand with Binz UK's long-standing links with major
car makers, and their original equipment manufacturing (OEM)
partners.
Given the increasing pressures
placed on the industry by emerging corporate liability,
safety and emission legislation, we would now consider a
relationship of this level essential for any coachbuilder
considering making fundamental alterations to a vehicle
structure. Even the most basic of budget hatchbacks is a far
more sophisticated and complex product than its price would
suggest. The issues are no longer merely ones of mechanical
components or finish, high strength steels or
environmentally-friendlier paints, but also of on
board-electronics that dynamically enhance vehicle safety.
The
process of lengthening the wheelbase and adding another row
of seats, needs to be considered now in the light of the
effects on torsional rigidity, NVH (noise, vibration,
harshness), handling, braking and even climate control -
because of the additional volume of air in the new cabin.
Not to mention the predicted behaviour of the revised
vehicle monococque under a frontal or side impact.
A natural progression to the
Mercedes-Benz based products provided continuity of the Binz UK
family ethos to provide the best quality, investment, and
value for money funeral vehicles to the discerning funeral
director. After all why should any customer have to pay
around double the cost of the vehicle upon which the hearse
or limousine is based and receive less quality and integrity
in return - there are certainly commercial, moral and in the
background legislative issues which support the Binz logic;
It is a standards regime that
extends back to even before one of our vehicles is made, and
then forwards past its end-of-life, and beyond. So you can
be assured that each Binz vehicle can help to meet your own
environmental obligations, from the recycled materials used
in the manufacture of many exterior and interior panels, to
the low-emission Mercedes-Benz diesel and petrol engine
technologies used in its drivetrain.
